Mathew Elenjickal is CEO of FourKites, a startup he founded in 2014 to track freight shipments in real time. It counts among its clients Best Buy, Unilever, Conagra Brands, Nestle and Cargill.
The company in February 2018 announced it raised $35 million to expand globally; it was already used in 40 countries at the time.
“It’s been absolutely phenomenal,” he told Blue Sky. “The value they’re able to get from the platform, that’s something to be proud of.”
Elenjickal, who grew up in Southern India and has a B.S. in mechanical engineering from the College of Engineering, Guindy, came to Chicago in 2003 to pursue a master’s degree in engineering at Northwestern University’s McCormick School of Engineering.
He led transportation technology implementation projects at some of the world’s largest companies, including Oracle and JDA Software Group, before returning to Northwestern in 2012 to complete his MBA at the Kellogg School of Management, where he developed the concept for FourKites.
