Julia Kanouse was named CEO of the Illinois Technology Association, which advocates and provide programs for tech companies, in February 2017.
Kanouse joined the nonprofit ITA in 2015 and had been senior vice president of membership and marketing, working with previous CEO Fred Hoch, the group’s co-founder. Before joining the ITA, she was vice president of strategic marketing at the National Restaurant Association and worked as a management consultant.
The ITA recently launched an initiative to boost the number of women tech leaders in Chicago and is launching a philanthropic arm focused on bringing STEM education to underserved communities.
“Together, we are charting a course that generates increasing opportunities for ventures from the startup phase through scaling worldwide. Our team isn’t just ready for what’s next. We’re helping create what’s next,” she said in statement released with her appointment.
She has a B.S. in economics and finance from the University of Idaho.
