Venture capitalist Matt McCall has made a career out of helping entrepreneurs build million-dollar companies. As partner at Pritzker Group Venture Capital, he co-leads the Chicago and Los Angeles offices, which have invested in startups like Signal (formerly BrightTag), Playdom (now owned by Disney Interactive) and TicketsNow (now owned by Ticketmaster).
“Entrepreneurship is opaque, non-linear and has setbacks. Imperfection is baked into the journey,” McCall told Blue Sky. “Great companies know where they’re going. Every day, they strive to get continually better and better and better.”
Prior to his work at Pritzker, McCall co-founded Draper Fisher Jurvetson Portage Venture Partners. A fixture on conference panels, McCall also blogs at vcconfidential.com.
McCall holds his bachelor’s degree from Williams College. He earned his MBA and master’s in manufacturing at Northwestern University. His all-time favorite movie is Chariots of Fire.
