Tom Sosnoff is co-CEO of Dough, a financial marketing and media network supported by a trading platform for do-it-yourself investors. He shares that title with Kristi Ross, who is also the company’s president. The company is the result of the merger of financial “edutainment” site Tastytrade, which Sosnoff launched in 2011, and options trading platform Dough.com.
“We (at Tastytrade) feel like the financial media is either really intimidating or really boring,” he told the Tribune. “It’s like watching golf for nongolfers. Our goal is to keep the world of finance simple and fun.”
Tastytrade is an advertising-free financial radio and TV network. Dough, which launched in January 2014, features interactive video lessons and real-time strategy sessions on trading.
Sosnoff has 20 years of experience as a trader at the Chicago Board Options Exchange and 10 years of experience building financial technology and teaching trading strategies at Thinkorswim, another online brokerage firm that he founded in 1999.
