George Deeb is founder and managing partner of Red Rocket, which provides business growth services to startups, and founder and managing partner of Ensemble HQ, a one-stop digital services shop for entrepreneurs.
A former investment banker, Deeb also ran his own companies for a number of years. From 1999 to 2008, he ran iExplore.com, a venture travel site he founded. Then he was CEO of digital video services and technology company MediaRecall. In 2010, he founded Red Rocket, where he writes an advice blog for startups and consults for startups.
Deeb founded Ensemble in 2013, which offers services such as app- and website-building to startups, which he says gives startups 20 to 40 percent off digital services fees.
“Startups are an attractive market niche,” Deeb told the Tribune. “They need a variety of different services — branding, logo design, legal advice, back-office setup, marketing. That’s why more startups are forming to provide these services to other new ventures.”
In addition to his own ventures, Deeb was a founding member of Techstars Chicago and Founder Institute. He is an investor in several Chicago-based startups, including Shiftgig, Spothero and GiveForward.
